Community based internship grants to Minnesota communities are a cornerstone of the EDAM Foundation's mission. Each year, the Foundation awards five (5) one thousand dollar ($1,000) grants to communities to cover a portion of the cost to employ an intern that will focus principally on economic development related work. Applications are accepted year round, and internship grants are typically awarded in April of each year based on a competitive review process.
Evaluation Criteria:
- At minimum, employer must match grant dollars on a $1:$1 basis for direct intern compensation - Higher Ratio of employer dollars contributed to the internship position - Quality of the proposed work tasks and exposure to economic development projects - Program of supervision and mentorship opportunities
